My very first time in an airplane
I flew out to Texas on JetBlue. it was my first time to ride in an airplane. Mommy and Daddy were worried I’d be up to my old fussy tricks. Well, I was a pretty good baby after all! I watched them load the baggage out the window. When the left and there was nothing else to look at, I cried. Mommy gave me a bottle to drink during take off and landing to protect my ear drums. I gave them a break and slept for over an hour on Daddy.

Mommy caught me trying to climb out of my play yard so daddy lowered it. I really hate it now!
Progress | Comment (0)Peas? Puh-lease! How about some real food?
Now that my doctor says I can eat some real food, well, stage one food, my parents decided to feed me some sweet peas. Ewww yuck! But it’s still food so, ya, I ate it up.
Progress, Slideshow | Comment (0)I am 6-months old today!

I am now officially 6-months old and I have all sorts of new stuff to share.
First, the official stats from my doctor’s visit:
Height: 27 1/4 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 15 pounds, 15 ounces (50th percentile)
Head circumference: 44 1/2 centimeters (90 percentile)
So… I’m tall and skinny. My parents don’t think I’m that skinny though. After not poo’ing for three days, I poo’d three times the day before my visit plus once more this morning. So I probably lost a pound overnight. And, as you can see from the photo, the guy who was weighing me is holding me up, so some weight was lost there too. At least this is my parent’s belief.
But on to other things. The doctor said that I can now eat baby yogurt and Stage 1 jar foods. But since I hadn’t poo’d in three days, the doctor said I should stop eating the rice cereal and switch to oatmeal or barley.
I’m all for trying new stuff!
Stuff I can now do:
- Sit up by myself
- Grab toys with two hands.
- Use one toy to manipulate another. I sometimes hit or manipulate toys with the one in my hand. I play keyboard with a ring sometimes. And I use birdie to beat other toys closer to me in my crib. Mommy decided the toy hammer that came with my toy xylophone was getting to much use and they hid it.
- Roll over on my stomach and roll back on to my back
- Wrestle. I like to squirm on Mommy and Daddy and put wrestling moves on them.
- I hold both arms up when I want to be picked up.
- Hug like I mean it. When I see Mommy after a long absence, I reach out and hug her. I think she likes it.
What I still do:
- I like to stand, so I stiffen my legs. But I need help staying up.
- Put everything in my mouth.
- Holler like a stuck pig when things don’t go my way.
What I can’t do:
- Crawl (I know, I know). Well, if you leave me in one spot and put a toy 3-5 inches in front of me, after about a minute of odd twists and turns I will successfully reach said toy. It’s not quite crawling, but it is a form of mobility closely aligned to snails and other slow-moving lifeforms.
- Talk. Some resources say a 6-month-olds might say Mama and Dada. I say lots of things, but not that.
- Wave Bye-Bye. The same resources also say some 6-month-olds learn to wave good-bye. Not me! You say good-bye, I say hello!

Well, since I’ve always tried to steal Mommy’s water from her, she decided to let me use my sippy cups (a baby shower present). Daddy screwed up and took the rubbery plastic plugs out of the lid ’cause he didn’t know what they were for. Now my sippy cups leaks! These are photos of me drinking water out of my sippy cup. Don’t worry, I’m never allowed to drink very much water. The doctor says only 2-4 oz. Widget 0, Sippy Cups 1

Progress, Slideshow | Comment (0)Yum yum! My first food
I’ve sucked on cantaloupe, oranges and apples but never was able to bite or swallow. I loved it though. Mommy and daddy finally caved and gave me some real food. Well, banana-rice mush. But I’ll take it! Or at least I thought I would…

2 teeth!
Just days after my 4-month-old checkup, my first tooth showed up. Less then two weeks later, my second tooth made its appearance. My mommy and daddy said, "Oh, maybe that’s why she was so fussy." No duh! That’s what I’ve been trying to tell them!
