Stick to your Knitting!
My friend Diana knitted this neato blanket for me with her bare hands! Well, maybe not her bare hands; she did have those little pointy things to work with. I’ve already put it to good use. I went on a stroller outing to downtown in the evening. They say it’s Spring, but it sure seems cool to me. Since this is my first Spring ever, I can’t really compare it to anything except Winter. And it sure seems a lot like Winter to me.
I have some sad news to report. Mommy has gone back to work! Daddy is taking care of me in the daytime a few days a week. And Ah Ma and Kong Kong are getting a work out on the other days. That sure is nice of them.
Baby News, Family & Friends | Comment (0)Widget does spring break

You might be wondering how I can go on Spring Break when I don’t even go to school. And you might also be wondering just what I need a break from. Well, Silly, I’m not the one on Spring Break, it’s the other people. I’m just wanted to see what was going on. It was such a nice day my parents decided to take me on a walk. A looooong walk to the Huntington Beach pier and their old hood.
I stayed awake the whole time, which surprised my parents. In fact, aside from sleeping in, I didn’t nap all day!! There was so much to see! The pier was packed with people on spring break. I almost lost myself in the crowd. In fact, can you find me in the picture below?
Along the walk, I met some of my parent’s old neighbors, including Candace (who is in the slideshow) and the Kennys, who I forgot to take a picture of. Candace was really nice and let daddy change my diaper and mommy feed me at her house. I didn’t need a diaper change. In fact, I didn’t pee the entire three hours! When we got home I was still dry. Daddy held me over the sink and made the pee pee noise, and I pee’d. I know having a wet diaper in the Baby Bjorn is uncomfortable, and I’ve learned from past walks that big fussing doesn’t necessarily get me changed right away. They have to find a suitable spot. So this time I held it!
The last time we stopped by the Kennys, they were using a white-noise machine for their young sons. Daddy wants to buy the same one because it really kept young Connor asleep, even when we peered into his room. Ms. Kenny said they got it from Brookstone. Guess we’ll be taking another trip to the mall.
Daddy is wondering if he will ever get to wear glasses again that don’t have baby-fingerprint smudges on them. I say, not likely.

Okay, one week late but hey, I’ve been busy growing! Chinese New Year festivities began last Thursday and continue through the weekend. What a long holiday!
This is my first one and I quickly learned that it pays to be a kid on this holiday because of money-filled red packets. My Uncle Jon and Auntie Karen both gave me one. My Ah-Ma gave me a Hello Kitty packet. I still haven’t decided if I’m a fan of the cartoon kitty but Mommy is and I love Mommy!
I got to get out of the house for Chinese New Year and visit Uncle Jon & Auntie Karen’s home in Pasadena. They took us to a Cantonese restaurant in Alhambra called The Kitchen. It smelled really good but they wouldn’t let me try anything — not even the jelly fish! Oh well. At least I got to wear my hot-pink cheongsum, a gift from Auntie Karen’s sister Helen. Thank you Auntie Helen! Gong He Fat Boy to everyone!!

Lawrence Welk Resort
I spent several days at the Lawrence Welk Resort. Ah Ma and Kong Kong have a time share there. They have had it for many, many years. Mommy used to go there as a little girl.
It was a short trip, uneventful by my standards. But those crazy adults seem to think relaxing in a new place is worth getting out of bed for. A few old family friends stopped by to see us. Even Uncle Jon and Auntie Karen stopped by. We made them sleep on the couch.
There were many snowbirds from the East Coast at the resort. The all looked and acted like Grandmas - oohing and ahhing over me. I even flashed a smile to a few of them. They liked that.
It was mostly business as usual for Daddy, he worked on his computer. But he had a few more breaks from me ’cause Ah Ma and Kong Kong spent time with me.

Uncle Jon and Auntie Karen
Uncle Jon is a big San Diego Chargers fan. He has a boring old fashioned TV so he came over during the weeks of the play offs to watch the games on my flat screen TV and sit on my comfy couch. He dragged Auntie Karen along, but she didn’t mind so much ’cause she got to play with me. Mommy and Daddy even made me a Charger’s jersey with a black marker for the AFC championship game. I can’t wait until I’m old enough to return the favor and draw on Mommy’s new clothes with a black marker. The Chargers lost their last game and Uncle Jon cried louder than me when I’m hungry!

Apple’s Photo Booth for isight cameras is pretty fun – if mostly useless.

Auntie Karen and Uncle Jon spent Christmas in Shanghai. We saved our mutual Christmas presents and exchanged them in 2008 and pretended it was Christmas again. We went to Auntie Karen and Uncle Jon’s house in Pasadena and they had a real Christmas tree for our pretend Christmas. It was also close enough to Auntie Karen’s birthday so we celebrated that too.
Auntie Karen and Uncle Jon gave me a funky Penguin Bowling. They really aren’t for bowling but for touching and playing. They are made of many colors and textures, and each one makes a different sound. I think they should be called Bowlings Pin-guins! Get it? Bowling Pins and Penguins?? I slay myself. They also gave me a Tummy Time mat shaped like a body board. I still don’t like Tummy Time, but I’m working on it.
We all had Dot’s Cupcakes to commemorate Auntie Karen’s birthday. Mommy was happy about that. She likes all manner of cakes – no matter what size, especially ones with lots of extras and frostings. Auntie Karen got a Wii for her birthday from Ah-ma. Uncle Jon seemed happy about that.

a.k.a. the Dastardly Diaper p0wns Uncle Greg post…
Uncle Greg has never changed a poopie diaper in his whole life. His wife keeps making fun of his ineptitude. So Daddy decided to give Uncle Greg a chance.

My Texas Grandma and Grandpa flew in on the 26th of December. Boy are their arms tired. They brought Uncle Greg and Aunt Natalie, too. We all pretended it was still Christmas so we could open presents in the evening.
Mommy even washed my Christmas outfit so I could wear it again. Now my bib that says "My first Christmas" isn’t technically true. It’s my second Christmas in as many days!
My Texas relatives wanted their first meal to be In ‘N Out burgers. They can’t get them in Texas and everyone thinks they are yummy burgers. I wouldn’t know yet. Then they had pizza for dinner. These Texas folks have dainty gourmet palates, can’t y’all tell? I reckon we’ll have steak and potatoes tomorrie, yee haw!
Those Texas folks really like football, so we watched the Motor City Bowl. We also just sat around catching up on old times. I haven’t seen them since November, so everyone took a turn holding me. But mostly Grandpa hogged me all to himself since he was sick last time and flew home early for my sake.
Finally, we were supposed to get down to business and open Christmas presents together in the evening – but Grandpa only wanted to play with me instead! Everyone else exchanged gifts while he paid no attention to the whole affair. He said I was the best and only present he needed. But that’s tough luck, ’cause we got him gifts anyway. Finally Grandma stole me from him, and they made him open his presents.
I got a fuzzy book that really fascinated me. I even reached out and grabbed it. Everyone was shocked since I don’t pay much attention to foreign objects or my toys yet.
Since everyone was on Texas time, we turned in early. I still made Mommy and Daddy stay up though. I don’t go down easy after a full day of activities.
Uncle Greg was supposed to change his first poopie diaper EVER. But Aunt Natalie took over when things looked hopeless. We still have several days to train him
