Bath Time with Tegdiw

I like taking baths with my mirror friend, Tegdiw. You can see her in the photos below. She likes baths as much as I do. We’ve even been known to toss around a smile or two. Mommy and Daddy get real excited when we smile. I don’t want them to get too soft, so I make sure I fuss when it’s time to get dressed after the bath. Potluck with the co-workers
I had a big day yesterday.
I traveled the furthest I ever have from home and even got to ride on the highway. We had lunch with all of mommy’s friends at work. I met a lot of people and got passed around like a present. I don’t mind so much — I like the variety!

Mommy & daddy got their hair cut today by Katie. It’s about time since daddy’s hair was getting really shaggy.
We also stopped by daddy’s work and met his coworkers.

I went Christmas shopping at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach. I don’t remember much ’cause I slept in the Baby Björn with my head buried against Daddy’s soft shirt. I slept in the car on the way there. And I slept at Lazy Dog Cafe while they ate their second meal in public with me. Later I made up for it by throwing a screaming fit in Target. Daddy has to dance up and down in the Baby Björn to keep my wailing to a minimum. People looked at him funny. What did my parents expect? Over three hours without a feeding and I’ve been fussy lately. I had my first public restroom changing at Target. Daddy didn’t take a photo, and now the moment is lost to history. I didn’t promise you exciting blog posts. So there. PS. I know the car seat strap is on wrong. Daddy was getting ready to take me out of the seat when he decided I looked cute enough for an impromptu photo session.
Cute Fest!
I know why you come here! You want cute pictures. So lets dispense with the pleasantries and just have a Cute Fest without further ado.
Festival, Slideshow | Comments (3)My big pee day!
Since I’ve always been super fussy about my wet diapers from day zero, Daddy assumed I’d be a natural at infant EC (elimination communication). And he was right. He makes this "sh-ssssssssssssss" sound, and pretty soon I grunt and squirm and make a pee!
I pee pee’d 5 different times yesterday in my new Little Potty Red. Daddy’s been reading all these books on infant potty training. Their theory is you don’t need to train an infant to use the potty. If you start early enough, a baby will naturally want to go potty somewhere else other than her own clothing or bedding (ie: diapers). These granola-types say, instead, Western culture potty trains infants to use a diaper, then expects them to un-learn what we teach them in the first place. So they don’t call it "infant potty training" but "infant hygiene," since you don’t really train an infant to potty, you respond to her innate hygiene needs.
We still don’t connect on making poo together. The books say to watch for cues like grunting, kicking, extending legs. Well, I do that ALL THE TIME! And I never poo when I do. I’ve never seemed to mind a poopie diaper, so Daddy is in no hurry. The books say any progress now will help in the long run. As soon as I develop a will and ego later in life, it won’t be about the bodily functions, but a test of wills.

I was quite fussy today (and last night). I took a little break from all the screaming when some new friends Hannah and her mum, Nancy, came to visit. Sam came too, but she’s an old friend. I met her when I was 2 days old. They brought Mommy and Daddy some much-appreciated fast food lunch.
We all played Wii bowling. Well, not me; I fussed and made people hold me between games. Hannah had never played Wii before, but she was teaching her mum and Sam how to play in no time! High Five!!
I’m one month old today!
See all the new friends I made in my first month (click on the pictures to see the captions):
P.S. There’s over TWO PAGES of entries on my blog, I’ve been busy posting as a way to say thank you to all my friends who helped out. So if this is your first visit, you can click "previous entries" link at the bottom of this page. My parents were sometimes distracted and forgot to take photos of everyone I met. If you have some, please send and I’ll post. Thanks!

I’m almost 4 weeks old in this video. It’s long ’cause Grandma doesn’t mind watching the whole thing over and over. But if you’re the short-attention-span-internet-generation kind of person, you can just watch a few seconds to get the whole plot down. I’m new to this, and I’m pretty repetitive.
I don’t sleep in the big crib yet. I sleep in the bassinet in Mommy and Daddy’s room. I love to rant and scream over nothing, so they kept me close to sooth me at night. They turned the big crib into a play gym.
Anyways, after being a dull lump of skin that eats, poops, sleeps and screams for 3 weeks, I discovered my hands can actually do things! Here I am giving these critters a workover. This is only the second time I’ve been on my play mat, and the first day ever! Mommy and Daddy didn’t know I had any coordination yet. I showed them.
And just to keep them on their toes, for the rest of the day I got mad in my other resting places cause I couldn’t reach the toys dangling overhead in the bassinet and play pen. Daddy had to lower the animals so I could hit them, too. But even so, after a good workout I get fussy and start screaming and make Daddy wonder why he lets me play if I’m only going to be super fussy and screamy afterwards. But I did start sleeping through the night mostly after these sessions. Co-inky dink?? I think not.
Daddy lets me work out everyday now. I’m temporamental and I don’t play for so long now that its not new. Instead, just when Mommy and Daddy think they can eat or relax, I scream and tell them I’m already tired of playing and demand some personal attention.
BTW, the crib was given to me by California Grandma. The rainforest crib set that can be seen in the background of the video was given to me by my friend Elsa in Germany. I haven’t met her yet, but I’m sure I will like her.
